Not really a ‘worst’ by any means, but a puzzling casting choice in my opinion. Jonathan Winters in “The Loved One.” Winters’ style of ‘acting’ is always the same: talk with a funny voice and a somewhat clenched lower jaw. I didn’t care much for his ad lib style of comedy, but it was way better than his acting.

Definitely agree with this. It seemed Broderick thought that enunciating to the point where there is almost a gap between each syllable sounds “Harvard” rather than like a Peanuts animated special.

> V for Vendetta and Tom Strong are excellent writing…

V for Vendetta= 1988, Tom Strong 2001. Tom Strong relies heavily on stereotypes. But yes, it’s not bad.

> The one time that I remember my mother being excited about anything was when she came home from seeing Mickey Rooney on Broadway in “Sugar Babies” circa 1979. She was usually a level, calm woman but that night telling me and her mother about how great Rooney was on stage, she was absolutely beaming.

So i’m wondering if your mom was a teenager when he was a big movie star.

And I don’t want to take anything away from his Sugar Babies performance, I never saw it but I remember it was a huge come back role for him.
