I’m wearing the only green top I own that’s work-appropriate. And I’m sweltering. Everyone keeps asking me if I’m sick because it’s gorgeous outside and I’m wearing a sweater. Can’t wait to get home and throw on a nice green tank top! ---

Welp. There was a recent picture I posted here on the Dope, which I originally posted as a silly response to \*\*Mr Bus Guy \*\* when he insisted on pictures of the new haircut I’d given myself. Some of you may have seen it. Anyway, I decided to send the picture to my parents, since they hadn’t seen my new haircut yet. My father loved it, and printed it out and hung it on the wall. He thinks I look like a little punk. So okay, ha ha, parents liked the silly picture. I’m wearing my Mayo Gaelic football shirt. Got it two years ago when I was in Ireland just before a match. Iris is wearing my Ireland biking shirt. ---

I intended to wear red, but I was kinda sleepy when I dressed, and I wound up all in blue today. I did try to find my “Kiss Me, I’m Polish” button, but I couldn’t. Oh well. ---

This is the one day of the year I avoid wearing green. I actually picked a green shirt last night, but remembered in time this morning and swapped it for a brown one. ---

no green for me, granted I got dressed the day before… (i work 7 pm to 7 am…) I don’t need it though, see it’s running in my veins! (Irish not green, ew) Pinch me and die. 😃 ---

OK, even though I’m half Irish, I totally spaced out today. I have two green dresses hanging in my closet that weren’t even touched. I wore a black blouse, black pants, black socks, black flats, black velvet jacket. It was just a normal day sartorially, as far as I was thinking. At work a woman who’s also half Irish, wearing a green blouse, walked up, said “You’re wearing black,” and pinched me. I’d never heard of this custom. (I think she grew up in Maryland.) After she explained it to me, she saw my malachite earrings which had been hidden by my hair and apologized. No more pinches for me. My wife had just loaned me these earrings that I had given her many years ago. At the same time I was wearing a green bracelet my daughter made for me that I wear every day of my life. If I’d known about the custom I would have pushed back my hair and made sure my jewelry was visible. I was “dressed” in the right color, entirely by accident. ---

we were allowed to go to school out of uniform today if we wore green, so I wore: a dark green tank top a fluffy green skirt (my favorite skirt, actually) a white button-down shirt (unbuttoned) tights pink chucks a green headband green eyeshadow. That’s actually a pretty normal outfit for me, except that I’d normally wear a different color tank top and lose the headband. Then I went to dance class and wore a turquoise leotard, which was the closest I own to green. Then I changed back into my fluffy skirt outfit for work and later, for the benefit of a co-worker’s three-year-old daughter, drew a shamrock on my hand in green sharpie. ---

I was in green, but I am in the Army so I didn’t have a choice. Normally I wouldn’t wear green. Would put on some orange instead. -Otanx ---

I had to go to work today and wear all black. So I wore bright green eyeshadows, blended together with some gold. It’s REALLY green. I don’t want to wash it off. ---

I totally forgot about the green, like most years, and a couple students pinched me. I claim immunity by way of being named Swaney. The unfortunate part is that in this hick town, (not Yorba Linda), even the upper half of the HS class doesn’t get that Swaney is related to Sweeney, or even that Sweeney is Irish. Sometimes I just freakin’ despair… ---

**rinni** , is that Cover Girl Garden Spices with the sparkly green and gold? It’s the most luminous eyeshadow I’ve ever tried. It has golden metallic luster all through the green.
