Having finally exhausted the backlogged supply of Midsomer Murders episodes, I’ve been casting around for another British TV detective series and recently discovered _Vera_ and the jaw-dropping David Leon who plays the sidekick DS Ashworth. Unfortunately he leaves after season 4 but that still means 16 episodes of 1.5 hours each. ---

Another fan of Anna Kendrick for her humor and outlook. I’ve also “re-discovered” [Josie Lawrence](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josie_Lawrence), one of the finest improv comedians in the biz, thanks to the re-airing of some of her radio work. I do love me smart, funny women, and her voice just does it for me. I even saw her live on stage in _Whose Line Is It Anyway?_ a while ago. (Also - looking pretty good for her age, or indeed any age. I haven’t seen a movie in years, and there isn’t any TV show that I’d watch these days just to see a crush. The most recent was probably Amy Poehler in Parks and Rec. A cutie turns up once in a while in a TV commercial, but there aren’t any going on just now. ---
