# Who's your daddy?

Above some stats from the Cardinals/Padres game the other night, one of the sports broadcasts ran the headline “Who’s your padre?” Cute enough, but now I’m wondering, where does “Who’s your daddy?” come from as a sexual cliche? And does anyone really say it during sex?

Although [this page](http://www.answers.com/topic/who-s-your-daddy) makes note of the role of the Zombies in popularizing the phrase, the first entry states that the term dates to prison and underworld slang of the mid-1800’s.
