Considering the vaudeville nature of the show, he probably felt like he was back in his youth.

Danny Kaye singing Inchworm with the cast and crew is one of my favourite memories of the show.

“Inchworm” was sung twice on _The Muppet Show_. [Charles Aznavour](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxPb948934U) sung it too. In fact it originally appeared on [Sesame Street](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0lQ0bdcjfY). But it was written for [Danny Kaye](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4klZ-U1Qy14), so I guess it’s fair to say his is the definitive.
