Mine is a reference to a character in the webcomic [Schlock Mercenary](http://www.schlockmercenary.com/2000-06-12), the guy in red. Who, in turn is a reference to the high casualty “Red Shirts” of Star Trek fame. ---

Mine came from the circumstances of my life. I used to be Steelerphan, but I found that identifying with the team brought criticism that I couldn’t handle at the time ( I was going through liver failure.) ---
