What is the best way to turn a democrat into a republican?

Give him/her a million dollars and tell them to hang on to it.

I have seen it time and again, A union worker that turns Republican because for the 1st time he put a few bucks in the bank. Then when its time to bring the working contract up to present day COL he can’t vote for a strike, Worried about his Truck Payment ETC ETC! Oh, and I’d proudly bear the Libertarian label myself if I thought there was ever a chance in hell of breaking the two-party system.

I’d be more eager to support the Libertarian view if I weren’t convinced that things like a strong police force were necessary. The last time I looked into Libertarian party thinking, there was a little too much utopian thinking for me to be able to accept it as a workable government system. I regret that I feel this way, but I also think I’d like anarchy less than what we have now. Which doesn’t mean I don’t wish for a strong third party to break the Democrat/Republican straightjacket.
