As a UW-Madison alumnus, I can say at least that you picked a lovely bicycle route. 🙂 If she turns you down, maybe she doesn’t like bicycling (unless I missed some reference to it), so don’t be discouraged. _waits with bated breath_ _turns blue_ _gasps, pants_ (mutters about learning the difference between held breath and bated breath) ---

We’ve spoken about it before. She’s pretty serious into fitness, which is truly not an element that links us. I think on a bike is the only place I have a chance to keep up with her. And if she DOES turn me down for a bike ride on some evening of conveniece to her in the next few weeks, I’m dead in the water. Because she is ACTIVE GIRL! From what I understand from others, she spends all her free time running, hiking, biking, etc. So if she can’t find any space for me in among the stuff she’s already doing, I won’t be able to read it any other way than “not interested”. Unless she makes some kind of counter-offer. But all this is cart before the horse thinking. She hasn’t even read the email yet. Question. Now I’m thinking there’s a better than even chance I’ll see her again before she reads my email. If that happens, and I will know, because I can tell if my recipients have opened their mail, what’s my best approach. Say hi and let her read it? Ask her to take a look at it? Ask her out and mention that I also sent her email. Keep in mind that we work in a public place, though why I should be concerned about privacy over a bike ride is pretty crazy. I guess I just wouldn’t want to be out there if she found a reason to say “no”. ---

Arrgh! Pat didn’t come into the office Friday, and stilll hasn’t seen the email! In the meantime, I am having drinks, dinner, or SOME kind of get together with [Tiburon](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=109160), who is visiting Madison this weekend. I feel no stress whatsoever about this “date”, knowing Tiburon is a lesbian in a committed relationship. And I’ve never _seen_ her, she may be a really hot babe or… not. It doesn’t really matter though, I haven’t pinned any hopes, relationshipwise, on this meeting, and I’m sure we’ll both have a pleasant get together. It is cool out, but maybe not too cool for the Union Terrace at the lake’s edge, I can almost taste the _Woodchuck_ ale. Updates will follow. ---
