“Go Advanced” and “Preview Post” allow everyone to proof their writing and edit it, and re-check and re-edit all day if they want to. It even allows checking what may have been posted while composing, before putting the post up for all to see. Doesn’t surprise me the OP hasn’t figured that out yet. ---

Your join date is July 2013. You are not currently a member (I see it says “Guest” under your name) and since July 2013 is less than a year ago you clearly have never been a member. Since you know so much I assume you know what “member” means in the context of this board? ---

Allowing me to edit a post for five more minutes allows me to stuff more stuff in the post, reducing my overall [del]stuff[/del] post count. Why make 3 posts when you can make only one and save a digit? ---

Actually, all kidding aside, if I am trying to write something longer than 5 lines or so, I usually use Notepad++ because I use it for my paying gig to write software and it is always open. I have a tab called new 4 or something like that and I write all my temp stuff in there. C/P to the SDMB and bang zoom it gets there every time. Even if the Internet goes down, I still have my text. Even if, Og forbid, the SDMB server fails, I still have my text. I do this because like all of us, I have had my wonderful words of wit and wisdom dumped into the bit-bucket. Never again! Remember the Maine! Everything that is happening has happened before and it will happen again. Winter is Coming! or something like that. ---

so a little off topic. if you post something you think just may be a little over the top and want to delete it say after you have had a coffee and reflected that maybe just maybe the post is not appropriate can you pm somebody and say ‘hey i was out of line, can you delete it?’ the mods do a good job i’m sure. ---
