# Why Arabs lose wars...

For want of a hyphen my last paragraph makes no sense. That should read:

“A bigger, **better-armed** force may not necessarily win…”

And then there is this:

Apparently I translated myself through Babelfish. Please read, “I don’t discount the possibility of later revised editions (which steal from that article).” Or something like that.

Of course part of Israel’s victory in '48 may have been less a failing of the Arab side but a desparate situation on the Israeli side. For Israel it was do or die … literally. The Arabs didn’t percieve that it was a war for survival for them; the Israelis did. Nothing like iminent death to motivate a fighting man.
