Now that I don’t know. Although if I had to guess, it’s because the particular Black Lives Matter speakers were Clinton supporters. I read what they said, and they weren’t trying to make Sanders hear them. They were trying to “hold him accountable” for what he hasn’t done. The only way their actions look intelligent is if they are trying to further the narrative that Sanders can’t win the support of African-American voters because he doesn’t care about their priorities. And who would want to further that narrative? Not saying Clinton was behind it, but her fans already know Sanders is the single greatest threat to her at this moment and will be for at least the next 6-8 months.

A Clinton conspiracy wouldn’t surprise me but it’s hardly necessary. They are getting notified about these events through the left wing grapevine, nobody is tweeting them about upcoming GOP events. And the Repubs have been through this kind of thing before, these people might get stopped at the door and definitely aren’t getting hold of microphone or on stage. The Democrats can’t be seen as attacking the Black Lives Matter group, they have to politely ask them to for a turn. The GOP will have them arrested. And finally, this group doesn’t feel like the GOP has let them down. Where Clinton comes out ahead is having the time to prepare for this and make a deal with their leadership.

Doesn’t really take conspiratorial thinking here. Disruption of opponents’ campaign events is a pretty standard practice.

Sure, and I still think Clinton started the ‘Obama is a Muslim’ thing. But I don’t have any evidence that she did, or that she’s at all involved in this.

Robert Reich, always interesting, posted this on his Facebook:

> We have no chance of overcoming either of these endemic failures if we do not work together. For years the right wing has gained political ground by dividing us by race. By all means, let’s make a ruckus. But we must direct that ruckus at the moneyed interests and their political puppets rather than at one another.p

Yeah, but that’s what Sanders is saying and Black Lives Matter is having none of it. They want progressives to prioritize civil rights first. Republicans didn’t divide progressives on these priorities, it’s a genuine disagreement that will have to be hashed out. Is this election going to be about inequality, or black civil rights?

BTW, haven’t the wages and incomes of African-Americans continued to rise? If so, that might explain why economic inequality is less of an issue for African-Americans than police brutality.

Lifetime of white privilege in the northeast? He’s a Jew whose grandparents were killed in the Holocaust.

He attended University of Chicago, was an early member of the Congress of Racial Equality, and was a member of the Student Non-Violent Coordinating Committee. He participated in the March on Washington in 1963.

As a kid, you can act like everything is possible all at once and that you can prioritize everything at once. I have no doubt that Sanders believes in equality and civil rights. But things have changed. The issues aren’t as clear cut as they used to be. Okay, we have a police brutality problem. How does a President help on that issue? More prosecutions I guess, but has Obama been derelict in that regard? All of the major investigations have failed to find evidence to bring officers to trial. It’s a problem that can only be solved locally, and since African-Americans can vote, they need to use their political power to hold people accountable, and that means voting out Democrats who won’t rein in the police in favor of Republicans who will. But they don’t want to hear that, they want one guy to just make it all better.

Sanders is focused on an issue he CAN do something about as President. And the issue he considers most important. The environment, civil rights, immigration, guns, that’s all second tier stuff. Sanders should be lauded for his maturity. Most candidates act like they’ll do everything, but in the real world you have to set priorities.

I find it suspicious that the line started very early in the primaries. I heard it first from pro-Hillary people and not at all from the right wingers who don’t hesitate to let me know about their latest delusions. The Republicans didn’t think Obama would be the Democratic nominee, only Hillary was threatened by his success. In lieu of any solid information about how it started I prefer to believe that. I’m not saying Hillary did this herself, but I think it came from her campaign.

One thing that a lot of people forget is that the vast majority of the election campaign isn’t between the Democrats and Republicans. It’s Democrats vs. Democrats and Republicans vs. Republicans. When mud gets thrown before spring of the year of the general election, it’s coming from within the party, not outside. The Clintons of the world say, “This came from the right” because it keeps their supporters from looking into things. If they say, “This came from another Democrat”, then Democrats will be more likely to objectively weigh the allegations, which is usually not good where politicians are concerned.

So you’re saying that all of the mud thrown at Hillary in the two Republican debates wasn’t really Republican mud?

Mud? First, they didn’t talk about her that much, second, what did they say that was untrue, other than Rubio’s mistake about her being in office longer than anyone(which isn’t even really an attack)?

I bet you that Clinton will be talking almost exclusively about Republicans at the Democratic debate, while moderators and Bernie Sanders vainly try to get her to answer the actual questions asked.

Michael Brown attacked a cop, tried to take his gun and got shot after ignoring many efforts by the officer in question to tell him to give up. If you want to put up a black person as a victim of out of control cops use Eric garner or Tamir Rice (not that police abuse is limited to blacks, cops abuse lots of people however blacks get a disproportionate amount of it). Those people were victims of out of control cops. Michael brown doesn’t deserve 4 minutes of silence, and anyone demanding that for him is a douche.

> If Sanders lets himself be pushed around by these douchebags he is going to make it hard for anyone to think he would have the backbone to be president.

^Absolutely this. It is amazing in my mind that people are still putting forth Michael Brown as an example of a victim of police brutality when virtually all the evidence favours Officer Wilson’s account of the events. The Justice Department report demonstrating the latter might as well never have happened for much of SJW community online. Additionally, I also am quite disappointed in Sanders’s appeasement and capitulation to these utterly idiotic moral nilhists. One wonders what would have happened if say pro-life activists had disrupted a Donald Trump rally.

Yeah, I think this is it. If they tried this at Hilary’s appearances, the Secret Service would be getting to third base with them on the regular. I think Bernie needs to have a discussion about upping his security. And I do think the Secret Service should get involved on his behalf, too. People should not feel free to just bum rush the stage, no matter how just their concerns.

Bernie’s never had crowds like this, before, and needs to learn how to handle it, pronto.

I read that the interrupted rally wasn’t a Sanders rally but a Social Security/Medicare rally and that Sanders was invited to address the crowd there.

After the interrupted rally, he then went on to his actual rally where he had an audience of 12,000-15,000.

He seems to be drawing the larges crowds, R or D, by far.
