# Why are CDOs hard to value?

Ah, so there _is_ a fundamental misunderstanding of financial models, particularly concerning their “claims” (which is **never** absolute). Or, if it’s not a fundamental misunderstanding, then it’s intellectual laziness and/or willful ignorance.

Again, not that that has anything to do with my original diatribe.
