I don’t remember saying anything of the sort, but maybe I said something similar. In any case, I seriously doubt that the law in UK or in England says that a builder must provide affordable housing. It may be, and probably is the case that if a builder wants to build on a specific location, that part of that must be set aside for affordable housing, but that is a condition of getting a building permit, not a requirement on the builder.
If they want to build elsewhere, then they can, without those restrictions.
I am currently in a commercial building. As part of building it, they were required to put in a sprinkler system. Is that the sort of govt intervention that you are talking about?
Demanding that a company provide a good or service it does not wish to provide is definitely communism, not socialism. I will agree that it isn’t necessarily asking for the Soviet Union, as that is a specific entity, and maybe it is another form of command economy that is being asked for. So, if you want to say, “No, I’m not asking for the Soviet Union, I’m asking for North Korea”, then I will cheerfully admit that he was not precise in his criticism, as long as you admit that he was right about the basic sentiment that you propose.
Well, that’s just the problem that I was talking about. You make pretty unfounded assumptions about what others are saying.
See, that’s where I just don’t get you. I did respond to the post where you quoted him. Maybe you missed it, but since you replied to that post, I’m not sure how.
Fair enough, but I’ve extended quite a bit of good faith to you, and have only been rewarded with misrepresentation and outright lies.
I’m always forgiving, and willing to go forward, but I judge each post by its own merits, and given your history, I will likely have some questions as to where you come up with the conclusions that you tend to jump to.
