The power imbalance is real, and Bill Clinton is an immoral shitbag. But by Trump’s own words alone, he’s much worse than Clinton. Add in all the other stuff and it’s not even close.

One has to be consistent.
You can’t claim the moral high ground if you consider Bill Clinton shooting a load on an interns blue dress to be “Consenting Adults”
Yes Trump is a homophobe piece of garbage.
What if we changed this thread to " Why are liberals obsessed with powerful men getting blow jobs from woman". ie the metoo movement.
Evangelical Christians are the only Conservatives that give a shit about gay marriage. Much to my dismay, some of them chose to chime in.

Amongst my various viewpoints, I include that same sex marriage is perfectly acceptable, whilst I disapprove of power differentials such as the above mentioned.

What about people marrying after childbearing age? Plenty of widowed or divorce people in their 60s and older marry, sometimes for love, sometimes for companionship and convenience, but in any event they are even less likely to have children than gay couples. Are you opposed to old people marrying as much as you are to gay people marrying?

Gay marriage is the rule of law in this land, let the evangelical christians whine about it all they want.
My only point in participating in this thread was to say that “Conservatives” as a whole, are not obsesses with same sex marriage.

Arguable in Clinton’s case (the budget owed much of its foray into surplus territory to the dotcom boom but the deficit had been decreasing before then) but wrong in Obama’s case, where most economists agree that it was government stimulus spending that dragged us out of the recession that was _entirely_ caused by free market capitalism.

As already pointed out, they were definitely consenting adults, with Lewinsky instigating the affair (which also removes the insinuation that Clinton somehow used his power to coerce her into sex).
Don’t get me wrong - there were plenty of things wrong with what they did but let’s not compare a couple of horny idiots having a deeply inappropriate office affair with the guy with dozens of rape allegations against him, who bragged about sexually assaulting women and walking into women’s changing rooms where there were underaged girls changing. For all the moral ookiness of Clinton, he’s a choirboy compared to Trump.

And in the context of this thread, I as a(non bible thumping) conservative, wasn’t particularly concerned about Bill cheating on his wife or getting a blowjob. Thats between Bill and Hilary. But I did find it odd that the National Organization for Woman, Gloria Steinman, various other “feminist” organizations didn’t seem to mind either. Some of them have come around recently, with the metoo movement

Am I speaking English? Are _you_ speaking English? Is this thing on?
Did you pull “just happened to” from the same place you got “forced”? Lewinsky (stupidly) made sexual overtures to Clinton. She openly admits that this is what happened and that it was all at her initiative. Clinton (stupidly) accepted those overtures. That’s not in dispute. No one was “forced” into sex. It didn’t “just happen”. She didn’t trip and fall onto his dick by accident. And I didn’t claim any of those things.
As for the “usualness” of it, that really is a whole other topic, and even less relevant to this thread than this hijack is.
