Why Are Conservatives So Evil?

Thanks for the link, pldennison, that is some amazing stupidity by Michael Moore. Poor little multimillionaire Osama grew up without his parents, hee hee! Afghanistan is a desert . . . stop it, Mike, your killing me!

I don’t think it’s quite ruadh called for, though; as stupid as the article is, it doesn’t say that the victims actually deserved it, just that it was predictable and could have been avoided if we’d acted differently.

David Koresh was an “evil conservative”? Care to name some conservative political causes he embraced?

As for evil American liberals:

Oh, how about Ted Kacziynski, the Unabomber? I actually read his treatises, and there’s NOTHING in it that would sound out of place in “The Nation” or in a Greenpeace pamphlet.

Hey… :frowning:
<shuffling out the door>

I don’t see a need to insult CDW, WEW, lok and all the posters who appear to use initials.

Well, it’s not exactly fair to call Lee Harvey Oswald, Charles Manson, or Patty Hearst “liberals.” But since the above post equates “crazy far-out right-wing views” with “conservative,” we can pretend that “crazy far-out left-wing views” equals “liberal” for purposes of this post. Manson, Oswald, and Hearst were as liberal as Koresh and McVeigh were conservative.

The Unabomber.

Animal rights “activists” who threaten the lives of medical researchers and their families.

I assume we’re talking about relatively recent examples. Otherwise I’d mention the Weather Underground, the Black Panthers, the Symbionese Liberation Army, and Jim Jones of the Jonestown Temple. Of course, they called themselves “radicals” rather than “liberals,” so I suppose they could be dismissed as “evil liberals” on a technicality.

BTW, thanks to Captain Amazing for correcting my screwup re the Spectator.

Um … how about Julius and Ethel Rosenberg?

They wouldn’t call themselves “liberals” (an American usage), but the political parties allied to virtually all the paramilitaries in Northern Ireland have a very strong leftwing slant.

I think that it might be worth noting that (as of 6PM EDT) the Boston Globe’s Jackson’s article, Sticky questions for the elite, (linked by John Corrado), was the third most frequently “E-mailed to a friend”’ article in today’s paper.

I’m sure that was meant to be faceitous.

Conservatives are evil because liberals are hateful.
Liberals are evil because conservatives are hateful.

Both sides use their mouths first and their ears last (and their brains, never). Conservatives are so busy patting themselves on the back for offending liberals, they they forgot to clarify their point. Liberals are so preoccupied with being offended that they forgot to listen for the point.

No one deserved this tragedy. But our country is not perfect. In the wake of this disaster, we should learn to become a better nation. Who cares what an individual’s motivations are. Some want to honor those who died, others want to serve God, others just want to revive patriotism, etc., etc. We’ve had flaws before, maybe we can solve them. So, all you conservatives, shut up and listen. All you liberals, shut up and listen, too. If someone says anything stupid, ignore them. It’s annoying how partisan this issue has already become. I’d probably be considered more conservative, but in this case, the conservatives started it. They should be ashamed of themselves.

Started what, exactly?

I’ll note that your reading comprehension skills need a bit of work. The author did not attack people on wheelchairs. Rather it attacked the ADA for allowing people who could not use the stairs to escape to work on the 80[sup]th[/sup] floor. Furthermore, an employer who might fear for the safety of a wheelchair-bound person in such a case and therefore refuse to hire him could be sued under the ADA. And finally, the claim is ubiquitous that the disabled can do anything an able-bodied person can–yet this was demonstrated as tragically false on Sept. 11. Will that stop people from claiming that there are no differences when there are? I doubt it.

And since you’re outright calling me evil, can you please be banned? Moderators?

Michael Moore said that? Really?

The same Michael Moore that tried really hard to get Nike to build a factory here in Flint?

As someone who is foreign to sound, I would think you’d prefer those of us with very short user names.*

  • Yes, I know about the Greek Soldier, just having some fun with the name.

Pissing off liberals. Guys like Falwell practically using the rubble as a pulpit to stand on and point the bony finger of judgment at people. Then he, and anyone who shares his beliefs were counter-attacked. Soon a politcal flame war began. It’s like kids in a playground. Everyone, go sit down and face the corner until you can behave.

Actually, the conservatives will be ending it.

Yeah! Look at Rudolph Giuliani, that Conservative Mayor from New York.

How come he wasn’t out there covered with dust, the day of the bombing trying to help?

Where was he?

Yeah, that evil guy, did a lot of evil this last week. That must be why everybody hates him so much now.

I bet that’s why their talking about repealing the term limits, and writing him in.

Conservatives have no corner on the market on stupidity. There are people of every political stripe that say stupid things. There is, however, scientific evidence taht conservatives don’t sleep as well as liberals, FWIW. And not all conservatives are stupid. William F. Buckley, Jr. is not stupid by a long shot. (Although I would argue that Ann Coulter is stupid.) But compassionate? Now there is a stretch.
