# Why are cuss words so bad?

Why are cuss words considered to be impolite, rude, and in some cases, obscene? I mean, who’s to say that ‘ass’ is not a good word for the rectal area? (I’m laughing as I type that) And why is ‘shit’ regarded with a frown? And even ‘fuck’? All it means is to have sex with. Boo-hoo. Ass, bitch, damn, hell, fuck, shit and (people like my mom don’t like it)crap are just words. What’s so bad about them?
