I know a lot of people don’t like Kaiser, but the first tier process at their sleep lab (here) was a simple take-home apparatus that was mostly an oxygen level meter attached to your finger. If you don’t qualify using that, you have the option of coming in and being hooked up to more equipment. I qualified with the take-home equipment. My daughter-in-law had to go in to qualify. She said it wasn’t as bad as she was expecting. So I’m guessing that different labs have more or fewer things that they attach you to. It might be worth your while to ask around. ---

I’m always advised to eat a fairly low-fiber diet for several days before a colonoscopy. Supposedly this is because the less residue, the faster the cleanout would go. It’s hard to imagine something like a bean surviving the Fire Hose Of Doom that is a normal colonoscopy prep. But clearly, there’s a reason to avoid stuff like that! When I had my first procedure, 12 years ago, I had north-and-south. One of the photos on the report, of my stomach, showed a slow-release pill just hanging around, doing its thing. ---
