What I like about the sci-fi channel is I can turn it on and read my book without missing anything. If I try that on Cinemax, say,I might miss a good monster or shower scene
My god, what eloquence, man! I have uses for this quote daily. Where would you like the royalty check sent?

Oh yeah, and right on the money in this situation too.
Pay it forward friend, pay it forward.
Of course, a lava lamp offers the same advantage.
NBC Universal.
Hell, they’re not even making original crap. I watched some of “Manitcore” tonight while working and there’s was one scene that was a complete rip-off of the dropship crash in Aliens.
But then again, an earlier film about a dragon had a number of scenes that reminded me a lot of Alien.
Actually, I’m almost wondering anyone has tried to sue these people from plagerism. If I were James Cameron, I’d be tempted to sue the manticore people.
Not animated shows on Cartoon Network?
Pray tell what are they?
They recently showed the 1989 Batman.
Interestingly, by its own definition, 90% of Sturgeon’s Law should be crap, which would seem to imply that only 9% of everything else is in fact crap. Conversely, Sturgeon’s Law only accounts for 90% of actual, physical crap, paradoxically leaving 10% of all fecal material in the category of non-crap. I’m no logician, but it seems like Sturgeon’s Law desperately needs to be amended by someone better versed in Set Theory.
Heck, they sometimes show such science fiction classics as Cape Fear and Braveheart!
Marc
You have to admit, Braveheart DOES belong in the “fiction” category.
Well, I’d rather watch Braveheart then “Anacoda vs. Boa vs. Raptors vs. giant insect” movie of the week.
You know, I just thought of two more reasons why I like the Sci-Fi Channel:
The huge-ass four-hour cut of David Lynch’s Dune (The Alan Smithee version). Maybe the 20 minute introduction wasn’t totally necessary, at least not for fans, but I got into it.
The extended version of Army of Darkness. I liked this version better than the Fistful of Boomstick cut in my DVD collection. It had the extended scenes and the “Good . . . bad . . . I’m the guy with the gun.” quote, which was missing from the Boomstick cut. The only thing I can’t figure out is why they bleeped out the “Good Ash, bad Ash” dialogue. It’s not like anyone was going to mistake his name for anything else.
So yeah, I’ll put up with a lot. But man, Bruce Campbell will star in anything!! Get some standards, guy! You’re turning into the Bruce Willis of the Science Fiction world!!
You know, I think we must have been seperated at birth or something because I feel exactly the same way. The intro to the Alan Smithee Dune is what got me interested in the series in the first place.
And I taped the Sci-fi Army of Darkness because that is my favorite cut of them all. I’m sorry I bought the boomstick DVD now, because it sucks in comparison. Bootleg edition.
Sorry, that should have been “I’m sorry I have the “Bootleg” directors cut”
Cartoon Network has shown some live-action films this past month, including Batman, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, and The Goonies. (They have also shown Osmosis Jones, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and Small Soldiers, but these are live-action/animation mixes.)
You, sir, are not a true SF fan!
