Why are my credit cards constantly maxed out?

My take on thisis that someone in this situation needs another part time job.

Working more has a triple whammie effect. You make more money, to be used to pay down the debt. You have less free time to spend money, because you’re working. Finally, the free time you have left you are more tired and less apt to go out spending.

Call your credit card company and tell them “gee, I just got a card offer with a lower interest rate, and was wondering if you could bring your rate down, since I love your customer service and you are a trusted name” Do this to all your credit cards, you’ll be amazed at how many are willing to quickly lower your rate.

It would also be wise to consolidate all into one (this may require some negotiating, since all are nearly maxed) then destroy and close the others. It’s easier to get a handle on one than several.

If you have any money in savings, don’t. Use it to pay off debt. It’s pointless to be making a small bit of interest on savings while paying gigantic amounts of interest on debt.

good luck, and stop living beyond your means.
