What are “the right things?”
IMHO: remove suppressors, SBRs and SBSs from the NFA restrictions.
“Attach” isn’t really the right word. It’s just a bit of friction holding it on the buffer tube. That may seem pedantic, but it’s actually a really important distinction (as in federal felony).
Everybody will have their own opinions, obviously. Whatever those are, it’s going to be hard to get them implemented cleanly and rationally, because of all the lobbying and all the fighting.
Let’s remove AOW as well. AOW is Any Other Weapon. Includes gas guns as well as devices designed to disguise pistols and such so they don’t look like pistols. I believe a gun made to look like a cell phone would fall into this category. So would the Serbu Shorty firearms.
From the AOW Wiki: “Any other weapon” is a “catch-all” category. An AOW as defined as “any weapon or device capable of being concealed on the person from which a shot can be discharged through the energy of an explosive,” other than a handgun with a rifled barrel"
