# Why are "Scary movie" and "Not another teen movie" considered good parody movies? “Scream” was a good parody movie. “Scary movie” was a movie made by the kind of people who didn’t understand that “Scream” was a parody. ---

Heck, I could start a thread “Why are Pauly Shore/Adam Sandler/Rob Schneider movies considered comedies?” I mentioned before that I laughed my way through NATM even though I’d never seen the movies it was parodying. I just realized that I used to do that with improv comedy, SNL skits, and even back to '60s MAD Magazine parodies. So a really good parody even stands on its own… not an easy thing to pull off. ---

I liked both Scary Movie and its sequel. I’m not going to argue that they’re great movies, or even good movies, but they entertained me enough at the time and I don’t regret watching them. I can say the same of Not Another Teen Movie which had Mr. T in it and I pity the fool who doesn’t like Mr. T. ---
