It gets even stranger. I’m a lesbian, and if I’m watching porn, it’s gay male porn. Lesbian porn-- especially the kind made for straight guys-- bores me to death, as does straight porn. Then I run into a film where anything goes with anyone, and I found that even hotter. Why? I think “really enjoying sex without hangups” is one aspect, at least for me. Gay male porn always seems to have that kind of energy. Even though lesbian porn for straight men has been cited in this thread as having that energy, there’s another aspect-- in general I’m just not attracted to extremely skinny women with long hair, long nails, etc etc etc. Everytime I see a woman with long nails fingerbanging another woman, my cervix weeps in sympathetic pain. FWIW I know plenty of straight women who love gay male porn. Also, the reality of being with two actual lesbians vs. fantasy lesbians is that you’re having a three-way with an established couple. The one guy we did this with (my spouse is bi) felt somewhat uncomfortable being on the outside looking in. I think the appeal of “we’re bored, there are no men around and I’m horny” is not just joining in, but also becoming integral part of the emotional as well as sexual aspects, too. We put an awful lot of emphasis on “sex” and don’t really pay attention to the emotional connection from porn. I think it’s easier to relate to pure sexual energy when you’re horny of course, but I also think it’s much easier to relate to someone or something you already feel a kinship with-- me with gay men as queer, two women who look like dykes, bisexuals of all kinds, etc. Or maybe I’m way too PC and love to overanalyze this shit too much since I can’t much get it up anymore. There have been some really good reasons given, but I tend to take the simple view. Take men. You are talking about a species that, if there was absolutely no other options on earth, would fuck a sheep to soothe his libido. I don’t care what it is, if it involves a naked chick, men will get turned on. A naked chick doing some guy, a naked chick doing another chick, a naked chick doing a donkey, a naked chick doing three guys, a bulldozer, John Merrick, it doesn’t matter. For any of those scenarios, you’ll be able to find at least 50 dudes who will spill their beer all over their polo shirts and/or construction boots while screaming “Woo-hoooooo!! _ **THAT’S FUCKING HOT!!** _” It’s not so much a presence of some deep-seated need as it is an absence of giving a fuck as long as there’s a naked chick doing stuff on film that would make her parents cry if they knew. I think the appeal is in seeing two women having fun. Some of the guys are fugly too, so seeing his hairy ass or pudgy gut kind of disturbs the aesthetics of the scene. Girl-on-girl porn also seems to be more fun and less selfish than guy-girl porn a lot of the time. With regular porn, I actually don’t like the money shot scenes, partly because pulling out is no fun. They’re okay in context, but deliberately pulling out to shoot disrupts the whole flow. I like GoG stuff sometimes, but sometimes it’s just boring. They have to be into it. If they’re not having fun, it’s not fun for me either. I like penetration of some kind. I think there’s a fairly simple equation in ( straight ) men’s minds; pretty women + sex = erotic. Women with a man, women with each other, or a woman masturbating alone; it’s the pretty woman with a sexual element that makes it exciting. I also think that in most cases it’s not really a fantasy about lesbians, but about bisexual women; who, of course might actually let the male viewer join in. The constant misuse of the term is a pet peeve of mine. ---
