It certainly beats your last vanity plate: F*KNJCOPS
Kids in college towns speeding? Fuck 'em. Pull them over EVERY time. As an EMT I spent enough time digging what was left of 19 year olds out of car wrecks.
And profiling? Well. I detest the racial profiling that now seems quite the accepted norm. But give cops their due- they can smell a bullshitter a mile off. If they profiled and come up empty, they should be gracious and back off.
We live in an odd area, the Trenton city limit is a 1/2 mile to the south and my township marks the beginning of middle-class neighborhoods that transition into some dang rich towns a few miles to the north. (FYI for the unaware: parts of Trenton are violent and impoverished; it’s a troubled area surrounded by much wealthier towns/burbs).
Trenton cops tend to be busy with emergencies and crimes, town cops with lesser crimes and auto ticketing. I drive like the proverbial old church lady on surface streets, especially in the cutesy little towns. Many of them have speed/rolling stops/etc traps and they nab a lot of drivers via sudden speed limit changes.
Yep yep. I used to live in Monroe, NY. One way home was to get onto Rt. 17 in NJ and then stay on Old Rt. 17 as it crossed into NY State.
That took me through Sloatsburgh, NY and Suffern, NY. Two towns with wicked speed reductions. God HELP you if you were still slowing down when you passed that sign. ( I believe it went 55- 45- 30 ).
After two stern warnings I decided screw it, I’m going 20. LET them pull me over for under-speed driving. I’d crawl past the townie cops, barely holding 20-22 mph. Did it for years.
They looked mighty displeased at the looooooong line of honking cars behind me. See, Rt. 17 is one lane in each direction at that point.
Fuck 'em. They don’t want people to speed? I won’t speed.
