# Why are there no references to bagpipes in the Mornington Crescent thread?

Just out of curiousity, I plugged “bagpipe\*” into the old search engine today. It came up with a variety of threads in which the magical instrument is cited. One thread that came up on the list was the [Mornington Crescent](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=456827) thread. But when I use my browser’s “find” function in that thread, there’s no reference to “bagpipe”, in any of the four pages.

What’s up with the search function? Why the phantom bagpipe finding?

Dunno what’s wrong with your browser’s search function, but post number 45 has the word:
