living all these years I have figured out that there is a difference between men and women. surprise! Women seem to be move “bitchy” (they seem to have found a way to get their way without physical supremecy) Assuming that men get their supremecy from their physical tools, Is there any societies where the women ruled? Or are there any cultures where the women were equal to the men physically? If so who rules the roost? ---

Just a suggestion, **justinh** it is my personal belief you’ll get better responses, a better thread, better debates etc, by avoiding the hyperbole and the oh, words escape me here, no wait, I have it the whole " :rolleyes: " that you’ve done here. your actual topic might be interesting. your thread title and OP makes it decidely less so, IMHO. ---

i guess I’m piling on…but you need to organize your thoughts and remove the hyperbole if you have a real debate to address…I noticed that you had a similar problem in your “abortion/morality” thread…While there may be legitimate ideas in your OPs, they’re kinda hard to decipher amidst the trappings. ---

We’re bitchy because some people can’t manage to figure out how to phrase an OP in a way that doesn’t insult half the human race. [Moderator Hat ON] Demise, trying to sidestep the rules of GD also makes me bitchy. Unless a thread _is_ in the Pit, comments like “if this were in the Pit, I would call you a [insert insult],” are inappropriate. In fact, such comments are not appropriate in the Pit, either, since it sounds silly to say “if this were in the Pit” if you actually _are_ in the Pit. So there is no good time to use such a workaround at all, right? [Moderator Hat OFF] ---

The senior partner at the firm I work at is 55, and not in great shape. I’m 26, and have a few inches and quite a few pounds on him. If it came down to a hand to hand battle, I could probably win. So, why don’t I defeat him and become senior partner? Somehow, I don’t think that’s the best way to advance my career. In fact, in all my dealings with clients, co-workers, superiors, FCC employees, vendors, etc., I don’t think I’ve ever used physical force to get my way. I’ve used verbal intimidation, I’ve used pleading, I’ve exchanged favors, I’ve used logic, and I’ve used knowledge and facts. Does that make me a “bitchy” man? ---

beadledave and A capitan, I am a busy man. I read thru the topics and grab one that appeals to me. a topic of “Historically, does the physical attributes of a sex determine its stature in a culture?” wouldn’t get me to look at it or even finish reading the topic. but something short and sweet “why are women bitchy” or “why are men bastards” gets my attention and I am guessing your attention. I don’t think its a cheap ploy, it does in fact state “crudely” the gist of the thread. like my abortion threads, you have to wade thru the idiots to grab a attention of the half dozen with something to add. (I consider your comments valuable). and don’t give me that crap about organizing my thoughts. I am ADHD and passive aggressive, remember? I tried to be nice about it **justin**. Let me spell it out slowly for you. ADHD or whatever does not get you out of your obligation, as the OP-er to put together a coherant OP. Since you decided you were ‘too busy’ to do so, you get what you’ve gotten here - smart ass hijacks. (and witty ones, I hasten to add). If you want a quality debate, put together a quality OP. Simple as that bub. If you end up with a quality debate out of this mess, it’ll be due only to the quality of the folks around here. By the way, telling us that you can’t be bothered to organize your thoughts, you just ‘sling em out there’, but then ordering us to add quality answers to it or get off the pot, won’t increase the chances of this becoming a good debate. A good catchy thread title does help jump start a thread. But a trolling one like the ones you’ve provided, are just as likely to garner the sort of universal :rolleyes: you’ve gotten here.
