All I know is that these particular bananas are refusing to ripen. I could use them as baseball bats.

From my own personal experience. I never by bananas that don’t have at least a hint of yellow in them. If they are completely green (especially that slightly darker green) there is a good chance they will never ripen for you. For the reasons mentioned above I guess.
Consider this a painful, but necessary lesson.
