Why aren't they the Minneapolis Vikings?

BTW, aren’t the Florida Marlins trying to get the city of Miami to build them a new ballpark and a part of the proposed deal is that they’ll change their name to the Miami Marlins? As much as I dislike sports franchises blackmailing local and state governments into building them new facilities, I kind of hope this deal goes through. The alliteration of “Miami Marlins” makes it a better team name than “Florida Marlins” (and to heck with the claim the current name is better for purposes of statewide marketing).

Hijack ahead—

Many people in San Francisco think that ANYPLACE OTHER THAN SAN FRANCISCO is a backwater.

It’s the most self-absorbed and snobbish city I’ve ever lived in (or visited). And I’ve been in more than a few. These people won’t even move even a *little bit * out of your path when walking towards you on a sidewalk. They’ll just run into you and then glower at you as if YOU’RE the rude one.

Beautiful city with great weather and lots to do, though.

How about the California Angles of Los Angeles, Anaheim, Azuza, and Cu

camunga?

**Why aren’t they the Minneapolis Vikings? **

Because then Green Bay would get jealous and want to have a football team, too.

Sorry it took me so long to think up an appropriately Minnesota Vikings response; I’m from California…

Not only did it take a while to get that joke into the system, I just realize I called them the “Angles.” There was actually one case where an actual Angels player’s uniform was accidentially made with the team name reading “ANGEES.”
