Ahhh. But are vampires affected by _The Moonlight Sonata_? It’s a very compelling work!

My grandson asked if if a werewolf became an astronaut and traveled to the moon, would they be a wolf all of the time, or only when the phase of the moon was appropriate. I was stumped, but we settled on a wolf all of the time.

In fact, it has been a plot point at various times for villains to do something to make it eternally night to force Supes to use up all his saved-up power.

It’s only Nuclear Man from Superman IV who needs sunlight at all times. (He may or may not have an analog in the comics.) He is a not quite clone of Supes + Luthor. Seems he got the sun power but not the battery.

I’d have gone with the phase of the Earth. Somewhere on the way there, they switch polarity.

But we’re just guessing. We’ll have to convince NASA to include a werewolf on Artemis. For SCIENCE!

Given that there have been already some interesting side-tracks concerning the life of vampires, can I piggy-back with another question? I was joking around with my friend @The_Butterfly_s_Ghost about my current nocturnal habits, and I mentioned to be afraid that I’m about to grow fangs and getting allergic to garlic. Since I’m a vegetarian, that raised the question: can there be vegetarian vampires? What could be an alternative to drinking blood? Inquiring minds want to know, maybe I’ll be fully transformed in the near future.

The blood _per se_ is bupkis, really; keep the goal in mind rather than the medium. I’m sure you can more satisfyingly feast on and consume human souls directly.

But besides taking people’s souls, isn’t a vampire dependent on blood as nutrition?

Kal-el is famously weak against magic, so the fangs working isn’t much of a stretch assuming Drac is a magical creature.

Actually, if you read the REAL Vampire lore (not the kind that people are always reading in the movies) you’ll find that there is a tradition of vegetarian vampires. I haven’t been able to find it, on a quick look through, but it’s there. I’ll have to see if I can dig it out later.

In the meantime, of COURSE people have thought about this. There’s an entire TV Tropes page devoted to the topic:

> **[Vegetarian Vampire - TV Tropes](https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/VegetarianVampire)**
>
> Vampirism is a nasty, nasty business. By nature, vampires have to kill to survive, and the existence of just one vampire means the death of countless innocent people. Right? Well... not always. Some vampires have a moral code and are aware of all …

Hah! Here we go:

Of course. They are killed by a steak through the heart.

I refer you to Bunnicula - [Bunnicula (TV series) - Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bunnicula_(TV_series))

> It is a [dark comedy](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_comedy) about a vampire rabbit named Bunnicula who drinks carrot juice instead of blood to strengthen his super abilities in new paranormal adventures.
