# Why ATP and not GTP, TTP, or CTP?

So I tried looking this up online, to no avail, wondering if anyone knows the answer. Why did evolution favor adenosine triphosphate as the prominent energy currency of cells, and not guanosine, or cytosine, or thiamine triphosphate?
