More of a MPSIMS thread, but I loved the bitchy comment from Brooke Shields about Tom Cruise. For those not familiar, Cruise [criticized Shields](http://entertainment.ivillage.com/gossip/debate/0,,7spdkbq8,00.html) for “addicting herself” to antidepressants while battling severe post-partem depression, citing his Scientology beliefs as “scientific fact” that there’s no such thing as a chemical imbalance. I agree-she has shown as an adult a wicked sense of humor and alot of intelligence. She has done alot for PPD , too. I think it’s a double entendre on her part, and I bet she stands by both statements. ---

Niiice. My first thought was Prince Xenu (Scientology’s Patron Alien), I hope that wasn’t wishful thinking. Women are only beginning to realize that they’re not monsters for hating their babies/themselves after giving birth and going through months of hormonal fluctuations. All they need is some movie star jerk with no natural children of his own (that’s not an anti-adoptee jab, I just mean that he hasn’t had to deal with a pregnant wife) telling them what’s what. ---

I heard an interview with Brooke Shields awhile ago on Fresh Air, and I am ashamed to say that I was astonished at how intelligent and thoughtful she was. I guess I’ve bought into the idea that models are necessarily shallow bitchy types; she was anything but. When I heard her comment today, I laughed aloud. Tom Cruise got pwned. Daniel ---

Awkward admission: When she appeared in Playboy (FAR too young for appearing in Playboy, but it was a different time :eek:) I got all confused. Now that she’s in her late thirties/early forties I’m much more comfortable with my attraction to her. And even if she had to sleep her way to an honors degree in French Lit that means she’s still smarter than I. ---
