# Why can't I stand my own generation?

People, all of this “No, you’re just an angsty teenager” (sensible advice it may be) is just going to add to the OP’s sense of isolation. Or worse will induce the age old cry: "Nobody understands MEEEE!

**Spectergeist** , perhaps the conformist actions are just done by people your age to garner a sense of belonging, in order to counteract the feeling of “every single person my age is different to me”. Conformism and trend-following aren’t necessarily bad things, they’re defining characteristics of your generation. Embrace them.
