# Why debate?

It is also useful, from an everyday-situation type of thing, to hear various arguments and refutations (or attempts thereof) of such arguments for and against various things. Comes in mighty handy when casual banter turns into a discussion/debate about something to be able to say “Well, actually, X is a logical fallacy, and here’s why” or “While that is technically correct, it is misleading because” or things like that.
