Heh. Now _I_ feel like a teen-ager: ‘Smooth Operator’ indeed.

Also for the itching - baby powder. Often the itching comes from sweating. Lotion won’t help with that, baby powder or cornstarch will.

The hubby voluntarily shaved for me once or twice - turnabout is fair play. I like the rugged look on him better than the clean shaven look. And I am being perfectly honest 🙂

I agree. If you’re sweating and can’t get cleaned up, then you’re heading for a rash. In that situation, baby powder is the best preventive measure.

Just by the way, any guy can get in this situation at some point in his life. Hernias and vasectomies require some pre-surgery shaving down in that area. I’ve had one of each.

I also had to admit that a girlfriend once insisted on shaving me from my navel to mid-thigh, front and back. It was fun while it lasted, but the growing-back process was brutal.

Holy crap! I guess if I had a big 'ol hairy shaft I’d shave it too, otherwise your woman would probably think she’s giving head to a static duster!

Well, I just went to the bathroom, and I have to admit that this is one of the funnier things to happen to me lately.

But after closer inspection, you could describe my “procedure” as “sporadic, at best”. Not exactly a clean sweep, by any stretch of the imagination. I think I’m going to have to go back in.

And upon further review of Whammo’s post, I may have to do all the bits and pieces. I’m what could be described as a fairly hairy individual. No, let me rephrase. I look like a thinly haired primate. Yes, that’s much more acurate. But I’m thinking I need to just take care of the whole package. I’m sure the GF would be quite appreciative.

I definitely read this as a humorous thread, with some practical considerations thrown in just for the heck of it. I tend not to use smilies either, but I’m definitely having a good laugh at Conner’s predicament and at the posts of the others.

😉

I’ve done it before. Didn’t itch that much, but then, I have hydrogen powered nuts. If you just run an electric lightly over the hairs when they’re growing back in, it’ll smooth the sharp edges and it won’t itch NEAR as much.

Ok, I’ve been thinking about the powder. I think its very much a necessity, as friction will very much become an issue. In fact, right now, the little squirrel feels like rubber - very tacky and friction-ful.

Now, in my walk of life, I’ve encountered the wonderfulness known as Gold Bond Medicated Powder. Its fabulous stuff, and as someone wisely said, “its like a thousand tiny fingers.”

Will this, when added to my non-coifed marble bag, become “its like a thousand tiny flames”?

Hydrogen powered nuts? Since I had that vasectomy, I just think of mine as decoration. All bark and no bite. \<trying a smiley\> 🙂

It never occurred to me to try that. Or if it did occur to me, then I was probably afraid that I would just the little guys a fresh sharpening.

OK, pseudo-related kinda-sorta hijack question here…

Former coworker from a decade ago - an uptight biddy if there ever was one - claimed that men who liked shaved women really wanted little girls. It completely creeped me out that someone would even think that one up.

back on topic - hmmm - wonder if I could convince hubby to let me shave him… How do you guys feel about the idea of your sweetie handling a sharp object in your delicate area??

This, well, let’s face it, **FairyChatMom** , the whole post has been graphic, but to me it makes for better, ahh, contact.

Your not trying to dig around all the hair and whatnot. It’s easier for me to get at the good spots more easily. Better for her, because I’m not fumbling around and doing that ‘Pthuh, Pthuh,’ thing.

It also seems to look much more happy that way, not that kinda mean and vicious with an attitude kind of look.

In terms of her shaving the guy? No problem for me. She was much more tender and caring with the unit than some of her other moves. Besides, she could get at areas that would have otherwise taken me forever.

I don’t think it’s a little-girl thing for most guys. Just one of those games to spice up things in the bedroom and introduce a little novelty. Shave it off once in a while, grow it back once in a while… No deep meaning to it.

On all occasions, I was shaved by someone else. On the first two occasions I was shaved as part of pre-surgery prepping, and on the other occasion my girlfriend did the work. One caveat: In each case, the shaver was experienced at the job and had done lots of pre-surgery preps (including that previous girlfriend, who was a nurse and had done lots of pre-surgery preps too).

Still, I would have no problem with my current girlfriend doing the shaving, if she wanted to do it herself. A girlfriend is going to have the better angle and visibility, and it’s not like it’s nuclear science. Just go slow and keep a styptic pencil handy for nicks and cuts. 😉

My husband asked if he could do the honors, and while post-surgery-itching memories made me reluctant, I agreed. Glad I did - we discovered several new sensitivities. I never offered to reciprocate since I think the answer would only be “yes” because he’d think it was what I wanted. Personally, I like his furriness.
Still, it’d be interesting to see what it’s like…
