My keyboard on my iPhone used to click when I used it; now it doesn’t.

I went to settings=\> sounds and “Keyboard clicks” is turned on; volume is normal.

How come it stopped clicking?

Did you turn the sound off by accident (like ringtones and alerts and such)? When you do that the sound effects when typing go away as well. I’ve done it by accident; it’s fairly easy to do so and it really annoyed me until I figured out what was wrong.

I have the same “problem” (personally, I hate the keyboard clicks).

Plug in your headphones and tell me if you hear the clicks then (I do).

[Someone else solved it here:](http://forums.imore.com/ipad-2-forum/222302-no-keyboard-clicks-sound-since-ios-5-a.html)

> Apparently I had changed the function of the lock switch to rotation lock after I had used it in its default mode to mute the key clicks. The iPad “remembered” the key click mute setting after I changed the function of the lock switch, but with the lock switch function changed, there was no way to unmute the key clicks.

When this has happened to me, I’ve usually been able to fix it by quitting and re-starting the “Messages” app.
