Wow, that would be terrible casting! But he didn’t play Vimes (thus far a character unrealised on TV), he played Rincewind (and also Albert, Death’s assistant, in Hogfather).
I currently think the best casting for Rincewind would be Arthur Darvill.
i enjoyed the Hogfather movie, found it pretty funny, and it led me to actually getting around to reading some of the Discworld books. Thing is, there really isnt a way to accurately portray the books. a good chunk of the humor isnt in the charachters or dialog, but the descriptions. you cant display a “river moving as slow as a planning commision”, despite how excellent a descriptor it is.
Just watched The Amazing Maurice. I thought it was very well done. Good adaptation of the book, quality CGI, good voice cast, and a number of Easter eggs to watch for.
