To be fair, the recent Richard Gere movie **Shall We Dance?** doesn’t have any sappy love scenes.

There’s a sappy reconciliation scene, and a brief hinting that one character has embraced his homosexual side, but I think the latter makes up for the former. 😉

Ah. A “pervy hobbit fancier,” then.

Women dig it. Even many of the most rock-em women.

> A recent film free of excess love scenes is [Master and Commander](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0311113/). In fact, the film is, I believe, entirely free of women as it takes place in a British warship.

> What I found interesting about the lack of romance in M&C is that the Patrick O’Brien books on which it was based contain a significant romance (and sex) plot line. In fact, the romances are what take the books a level above dull sailing stories.

I did see this movie…I liked it, although it grew on me. The first time around I thought it was kind of weird.

Some do. And I’m not saying I never do. Just in the right circumstances. Romancing the Stone is appropriate. Bourne Identity had no use for a female. The role could have easily been filled by a male friend…but I’m sure homophobia would have reared its ugly head. A nice dapper English gentleman would have been perfect. 😃
