There’s some videos floating around the Internet of a dog trying to get through an opening too narrow for the stick it’s carrying. I think the one involving a bridge was a Golden that finally figured out turning the stick sideways.
Yanno why? Because for a dog to have pockets, it needs to be wearing pants & that’s gonna create one hell of an argument as to the appropriate way for a dog to wear pants
Well of course it is. The one on the left is analogous to a strapless jumpsuit; no dog wants that.
My two cats carry stuff around all the time and at I first thought it had something to do with the way mama cats cary around their young. Now I tend to think @Beckdawrek has it right: Because they have no hands.
On my drive to work, most days I pass a guy walking two labs, one black and one yellow. The black one is always carrying something - some days it’s a toy, some days a ball. I always think to myself, I wonder if at any point during the walk he regrets it. Like, “Crap, why in the world did I take this? I don’t want to carry it anymore.”
Our dogs occasionally carry toys into the woods on our walks. Sometimes they drop their toy and continue on without it. Then, three years later my gf or I will stumble across the toy, now unrecognizably encased in moss.
