I used to live on a private lake which had a few typical bass boats on it. We had HP limits which kept the real crazies out but still these 20’ overgrown skiffs could do 50 mph.
Every time I’d see one blasting by at max speed I’d shout “Faster, faster; you’re gainin’ on 'im. Catch that Bass!!” Of course they never heard me.
Most folks don’t realize it, but bass can easily swim at 50+ mph. It takes a fast boat to chase one down.
