Must be pretty new. Last week I paid at the pump with a gift card, and the pump slowed down as it approached the balance of the card, finally stopping right on the mark. Don’t know how old the pumps were at that station, though.
Oops, ignore my last post. Same station, maybe same pump (I’m not sure, but I do know all the pumps at that station were replaced a couple of months ago), and this time got the slowdown. So an anomaly, or I might have been dreaming the first time.
Oh, same station, but this time it didn’t slow down. I know, you probably think I care too much about this. Well, go to Alfa Auto Fuel, 4139 Washington St. in Roslindale, MA, pump 3, and experience the miracle for yourself. It will be worth however far you have to drive.
Maybe it’s because today $30 in gas will take maybe 7 seconds to pump, so the slowdown period would begin immediately and that would annoy people.
And I just realized this thread and has been summoned from the grave no fewer than 4 times. I don’t know what the record is but 4 times in a thread with only 43 posts is impressive.
Or perhaps I’m just easy to impress.
