Two words: Sequential Threads. A title like “It’s About Time” or “Now that I’m 40 I need to…” are the combos that keep on giving. ---

For the same reason people email me with “no subject” in the subject line, or a phrase that doesn’t describe the subject of the email. People don’t stop to think how the data will be used in the future. ---

Creative people devote goodly amount of time coming up with great titles for their work but not necessarily the most descriptive (I say, for visual works, “Untitled” is always safe and trouble free… and will never come back to bite you; obviously won’t work for thread titles). If all titles must be accurately descriptive period and there’s no room for play… that’s shutting down of a portion of creativity process in thread creating. Obviously not everyone will always be successful but it all adds to the fun of checking out someone’s thread and participating for me.
