# why do people get more colds in the winter?

Why do people get more colds in the winter? I’ve heard it’s because people are inside more when it’s cold, and thus pass germs more easily.

But I live in Tucson where the winters are mild and the summers are dreadful. So we are inside during the summer and spend all winter frolicking outside.

And we still get more colds in the winter than the summer.

What gives?
