Well I did overreach; he had convinced me he had serious a serious problem and I still think so. It is not hard to see if one has one’s eyes open. Getting drunk even once is a serious business; a worrisome business; a dangerous business. This is what ought to be being emphasized here and it disappoints me that no one seems to be willing to do so. Nay it worries me that the message of alcoholism and its toll on lives on highways and personal relationships and so on is not getting through. ---

Right. So that which you’ve been accused of was true. You were wrong. You act as if the revelation that alcoholism is bad is truly eye opening to us all. Do you really think that needs to be said, as if no one else gets it? You are being criticized for your tone deaf demeanor, your overstepping, your arrogance in dismissing valid complaints. ---

I used to love to drink, especially alone. Beer in the morning would help me clean the house in an obsessive way. I am so thankful than I lost that desire. I believe that an alcoholic can become not an alcoholic and it doesn’t take AA. I believe that AA is a cult. Transferring one addiction for another. ---
