# Why do people live in places with bad climate?

I’m no fan of Southern California. I miss thunderstorms, and I miss snow, and day after day of blue skies is actually a bit boring. That said, I can’t _stand_ humidity…I grew up in Indiana, and have visited since moving; the summers there are intolerable compared to here. I’d love to live in a place with more variety of weather, and LESS PEOPLE. I feel like I live in a pavement jungle.

Though I have said for years I’d like to leave, hubby is set against it. He loves California, and loves that from where we live, we can drive less than an hour and be in the mountains (which means snow in the winter), the beach, major music/art centers, and other things not found in other locales. I’d love to move up the coast and away from the heat and congestion, but with the economy the way it is, I’m happy staying where I (we) have solid jobs. Eep.
