What is the reason for all of the web sites for the so-called ‘amateur’ porn? Most of the women featured are just average looking, with some considerably _below_ average. Some of these sites even have the word ‘unattractive’ right there in the URL. Why would anyone want to look at pictures of plain or below-average looking women when they could just as easily look at attractive women? Do these people suffer from low self-esteem?? Thanks. ---

Variety is the spice of life. If I were the type of guy that looked at porn, I imagine I would get sick of seeing the army of silicone-enhanced blondes with their faux pearl necklaces and red pumps. Plus with amateur porn you get to critique other people’s decorating jobs. ---

Attractiveness is a subjective thing. I don’t find the model type attractive at all, preferring a zaftig, curvaceous figure. ---

'Cause its easier to imagine yourself in their position, which is really the point of porn. The same reason its commonly short, fat guys with beautiful women. To make the watcher believe it could be him. ---

While variety is probably part of it, authenticity is probably more so. Amateurs are more likely to be genuinely enjoying it than those “armies of silicone enhanced blondes” who film the same basic scene over and over with guys they’ve barely met. ---

For the gay side: I like watching amateur porn because I find the current look in professional gay porn–hairless, skinny, 19-year-olds–to be a major wood kill. I like my guys roughr around the edges, hairy, maybe with a bit of a belly. My fantasy guy is a muscular auto mechanic with a slight beer belly. Plus in amateur porn, the guys appear to be genuinely enjoying themselves, which is something you don’t see much in regular porn. ---

BTW this is also one reason some people prefer to watch “classic” porn from back in the 70s/early 80s (OK, besides the _bwada-bump-bwa-dum-bwada-bump-bwa-dum-bwadabwabwadabwaaa_ discofunk soundtracks, and the chance to laugh at the haircuts, polyester fashions, and hysterically lame attempts at “plots”) : the people still looked remotely like humans. ---
