Hmmmm…as a 57 yr old adult with a missing front tooth I take exception to the OP’s premiss.
I lost part of my lest front tooth when I was about 23, I had it filed into a ‘‘fang’’ looking point, and capped [crowned]. Because of a large overbite [and a propensity to be loud and verbal] the cap failed numerous times, once on a kitchen line…flying across the line and landing in a bain marie of french onion soup. Both the soup and my crown got replaced.
Fast forward several years i had a root canal , the tooth filed to the the gum line and posted…another new crown. Since then i have had it redone no less than 4 times…in 20 or so years. The post kept snapping even thought they were titanium.
Fast forward again to last year…it snapped again and i swallowed the crown, no, i did not ‘sieve’ for it. I have remained ‘front toothless’ since because i am tired of the frustration, expense and hassle of replacing it…only option now is a 3-tooth bridge or a very costly bone implant. I already have well over 10k total into my front toothless smile, I couldn’t give even a half of a fuck what others think…I have an IQ well above ‘5’, I am not a dope or a backwoods hill billy or a drunkard, and i smell good too.
I am , however, a Straight Doper…and i appreciated good beer.
