Why do so many GQ thread titles sound like they could just as easily be Smiths/Morrissey songs? Please review this list of recent threads and tell me you don’t see my point: [ul] [li]Baby in a Convertible[/li][li]What makes “Chinaman” an insulting term?[/li][li]Human resistance…[/li][li]Hallucinations – how “real” are they?[/li][li]Consequences of Psychiatric Committment[/li][li]Is everything in Unicode now?[/li][li]Who was this guy I was following?[/li][li]Drink before or after?[/li][li]A question about negligent homicide[/li][li]Safest car for the freakishly small[/li][/ul] And perhaps the best example of the phenomenon: [ul] [li]Why doesn’t the federal death penalty move more swiftly?[/li][/ul] I can hear the Mozzer crooning out each and every one of these in my mind’s ear. Is this just me? Is the genius of Morrissey that he chooses such mundane titles for his works? Or are SDMB posters more likely to be Morrissey fans, or at least of the same literary mold as he? This cannot just be an accident! ---

I actually thought of this once when there was, no kidding, a “Meat is Murder?” thread and a “Are teachers afraid of students?” thread (titles may not be precise) up at the same time. ---

Actually, a while back I was watching some show on VH1 that highlighted videos of the early 90s. I was thinking to myself that the Morrissey song titles sounded like they could be SDMB thread titles! **For the IMHO threads:** Every Day is like Sunday Interesting Drug Satan Rejected My Soul **General Questions:** Girlfriend in a Coma (Is it serious?) Why do We Hate it When Our Friends Become Successful? There is a Light That Never Goes Out on my dashboard I’m sure there are more… ---

A Morrissey thread? I think I’ve died and gone to heaven. GD: America is not the world. A rush and a push and the land is ours. This is not your country. IMHO: Best friend on the payroll? After seeing this thread I am looking at the thread titles and keep hearing Morrissey sing them. I think my favorite so far: GQ: My cat has Breath That Stinks Like A Corpse ---
