Why do women wear shirts that don't cover their stomach, then pull them down

Hey bro, I know that this thread is almost two decades old, but I thought that I could add in movies or clip shows.

These are the best time capsules of the 2000s, and they have the short shirt problem that you discussed about in this thread. It was not that uncommon to see shirts riding up to expose belly buttons in those movies.

Here are some examples. These are all the end of youtube links since I can’t embed them in the post

Kill Bill fight at around 0:18

?v=kgRlzeYc1nk&t=58s

At around 0:08 of Anger Management

?v=iOYE_Y8H1_g

At around 0:20 and 0:30 of this clip of John Tucker Must Die.

Even the early 2010s has the shirt riding up moment, like around 0:20 of this clip from Grown Ups

I see that the proper response was given 18 years ago.

How do you imbed the videos into the reply?

There is a whole thread in ATMB about ways, but for some reason It has never been a problem for me, I just paste the URL in.

For some inexplicable reason, women’s shirts are really short, and it’s hard to keep them in place. I’ve been wearing a lot of men’s shirts since the pandemic, and one benefit is that i can tuck them in and they stay tucked.

My shirts shrink, but they shrink s l o w l y. They start out fine. And they’re fine for awhile. Then they’re okay, but I remember them as fine and when I have to do a tug down, it feels like an aberration.

Then they’re almost okay, and I’m pulling them down several times a day. But I remember them as okay and they’re not old enough or worn enough to toss.

And then . . . then they slowly shift to the back of the drawer, to be worn less often. And I feel bad about that. I start wondering if clipping fishing weights to the bottom hem would keep it in place.

I tried to post a youtube url, but it comes like this.

“An error occurred: Sorry, you can’t embed media items in a post”

Who do I have to contact for this issue?

Issue fixed

See that thread in ATMB. Nobody on this board is able to fix it, but there are workarounds.

Ok, I saw it and found that you have to put a slash at the end of the link.

This is just gross misogyny.

True, but they last logged on about 7 years ago and so will probably never see that criticism.

(Really though you’re right, that’s a fractally misogynist post).

I had no idea how old that was. It was in recent posts; it must have been resurrected.
There were more pretty offensive posts after that one so I didn’t read it all. I rarely do that.

At 0:08.

I actually wanted to update this thread since I posted movies from the 2000s. These are all time capsules of fashion from that era.

I initially could not embed the youtube videos. I had to work around and post them in different replies from post #94, and post #96-99

Post #94: Kill Bill fight at around 0:30. That is when Uma Thurman’s shirt rides up to expose belly button

Post #96: Sandra Bullock shirt rides up at around 1:24 of a scene from the movie Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous

Post #97: At around 0:20 and 0:30 of this clip of John Tucker Must Die. The actress is Arielle Kebbel

Post#98: Even the early 2010s has the shirt riding up moment, like around 0:06 of this clip from Grown Ups

Post #99: At around 0:08 of Anger Management. Actress is Marisa Tomei.
