I’d like to see a updated movie about the The Doolittle Raid. The original film, Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo, with Spencer Tracy is very good.
I think a modern remake could use the historical knowledge that’s been learned about the mission and how it effected the war. The original movie was made during the war and I’m sure many details were still considered secret.
I think there are enough war movies deserving a remake that once someone does it successfully, more will follow. The Dirty Dozen is an obvious one, but I bet destined for failure after the large mark left by the original cast.
I think The Guns of Navarone, Breaker Morant, and Gallipoli could have potential.
