Been reading SD from the 80s from free papers in Baltimore then the books, then online. It’s THE place to be clever, smart, and get mucho info, maybe even be cutesy or jerky. Plus games are fun. ---

English is my first language, but living in an area where almost everyone speaks it as a 2nd/3rd/4th language, means I can’t use idioms or references that I could use in the U.S., such as, “I know nothing” from Hogan’s Heroes. (Which doesn’t actually work in writing, because the intonation is so important.) I know people who are losing their first language because they use it so little. Fortunately my work is in English. Mostly. ---

I recently encountered a thread here that had turned into a discussion as to what is and is not considered to be canon in “Peanuts”. I like the unexpected (and always interesting) turns that threads can take here…you don’t find that in too many other places. Also, I like the people.
