Why does a false copyright claim only have a $2500 fine?

I don’t think you will be “1 of those people” to do what you set forth in that sentence. In fact I don’t believe there will be even one - including you.

Is the book “Deceased Equines and the Sustained Flailing Thereof” in the public domain yet? I believe the author was Colt Thrasher.

Welcome to the world of governments. The laws are morally wrong, counterproductive, expensive and make the world a worse place. No they will never be changed, not in your lifetime at least. Except perhaps to make them stricter and the punishments more draconian.

You have to look at it like you’re living in a desert, or Antarctica. It’s a painful, oppressive environment that you have to deal with. You’re not going to make the desert cool and wet. You’re not going to convince the ice shelf to become a tropical paradise. The best you can do is put up a decent shelter, dress for the climate, and be very careful with your water usage. It sucks, but what else are you gonna do?

Really. This is how you see the legal system. Through this lens of self pity. Might as well become Freemen of the Soil then.

Really, of all the inequities in our legal system, the copyright term is one of the least of the problems and if you have any real perspective you’d see it as a disagreement over policy rather than some cross to nail yourself to.

Are you asserting that Kadmos1 is some kind of intellectual property sovcit?

That’s both trivializing and disturbing at the same time. But now that I think about it, a pretty on-point observation.
